Following its US debut during the PASIC, the World’s Premier Drum & Percussion Festival, the new Alpha Z Frame made its European lauch during the Adams International Percussion Festival. Designed by KesselsGranger DesignWorks for Adams signature marimba artist Nancy Zeltsman, the Z Frame integrates the instrument’s support section with the flowing rail and resonator design for a cohesive and complete look. The design also offers great stability. The characteristic Z frame (which coincidentally matches the artist’s surname) is made from a single casting of aluminium, whereas the wing shaped wheel supports are made from solid oak. Nancy Zeltsman, Chair of Percussion / Marimba at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, says “The most important thing to me is creative inspiration, and I’m feeling it with the Adams marimba, and the sleek modern design of the Alpha Z!”
Sybaris, the 70 metre Perini Navi sailing superyacht, is currently undergoing the final stage of her sea trials off La Spezia, Italy. Sybaris is fitted with twin carbon fibre Rondal Style to Order furling booms that were styled by KesselsGranger DesignWorks. She is the second largest Perini Navi to date (second only to Maltese Falcon), with a displacement of 927 tonnes and a total internal volume of 870 gross tonnes. Her two masts reach 72 and 62 metres respectively, whilst her sail plan is more than 3,000 sqm. Following the completion of her sea trials, Sybaris will head to Port Hercules where she will be one of the most notable sailing superyachts at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show.
Pearl and Adams Musical Instruments are happy to welcome Nancy Zeltsman to the esteemed concert artist roster. In this film she talks about the Adams Alpha Series Marimba, designed by KesselsGranger DesignWorks. "The first time I saw an Alpha I was really taken with the style."
