Red Dot Design Award | Product Design Award for Ebusco 3.0

Electrifying!! Celebrations were in place for Ebusco and KesselsGranger DesignWorks at the Red Dot Design Award Gala and Designers’ Night in Germany, after receiving the Red Dot Product Design Award 2022 for the design of the lightweight Ebusco 3.0 electric bus. Ebusco | Ebusco 3.0 wins Red Dot Design award

The Ebusco 3.0, designed in cooperation with KesselsGranger DesignWorks, has won the pretigious Red Dot award in the Product Design category.

The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world's leading design competitions. The Red Dot Label has become established internationally as one of the most sought-after marks of quality for good design.

All registrations have been assessed by the international jury and the fact that the Ebusco 3.0 has been awarded is something that we feel extremely honoured about.

Linssen Yachts | Linssen Grand Sturdy 500 Sedan nominated for European Powerboat of the Year 2022

The Linssen Grand Sturdy 500 Sedan Variodeck, designed in collaboration with KesselsGranger DesignWorks, is nominated for the European Powerboat of the Year 2022 (EPY 2022) in the category "Displacement / Semi-Displacement".

The European Powerboat of the Year Award will be presented in January 2022 at the first day of BOOT Düsseldorf 2022.

The European Powerboat Award is presented by the motorboat magazines BOOTE (Germany), Boatmag.it (Italy), Båtmagasinet (Norway), Marina.ch (Switzerland), Motorboot (Netherlands), Náutica y Yates (Spain), Neptune (France) and Yachtrevue (Austria).

Ebusco | Ebusco wins Automotive Innovation Award with the revolutionary Ebusco 3.0

Monday, September 20, the moment finally arrived; the winners of the Automotive Innovation Award were announced in the Louwman Museum in The Hague. According to the jury report, the Ebusco 3.0 won the prize as this innovation makes a significant contribution to sustainable and affordable public transport.

The Ebusco 3.0 is a revolutionary model and the most innovative electric bus on the market. The exterior and interior is designed by KesselsGranger DesignWorks. The lightweight carbon fiber composite body is based on aerospace technology, adding to the bus's distinctive character; the Ebusco 3.0 distinguishes itself, in addition to the weight, in its mileage on a single charge and the service life.

Goldoni-Keestrack | Collaboration for the design development of a new tractor range

Genk (B) / Carpi, Emilia-Romagna (I) | Following the acquisition of Italian tractor manufacturer Goldoni in March 2021 by Keestrack NV, a major manufacturer in mining, recycling and construction equipment, Goldoni-Keestrack Srl has signed a partnership with KesselsGranger DesignWorks for the design development of a new tractor range.

Goldoni, dating from 1926, is a leading #manufacturer of tractors designed to work in orchards and vineyards. The factory in Migliarina di Carpi near Modena occupies an area of over 130,000m2. The Goldoni range, including motor mowers, motor cultivators, utility vehicles, equal wheel, specialized and tracked tractors, is currently exported to over 80 countries.

Buvetex International | Buvetex and KesselsGranger DesignWorks enter into exclusivity agreement

KesselsGranger DesignWorks is proud to announce that we have entered into an exclusivity agreement with Buvetex International NV. Buvetex, recognized as purveyor to the royal family of Belgium, has specialized for more than 40 years in the development and distribution of a complete range of upholstery and upholstery materials for the interior of coaches and buses. Buvetex products are made of the highest quality leather, imitation leather, micro leather and fabric (including polyester and polyester-wool combinations) and are offered in a wide color palette.

The collaboration with KesselsGranger has resulted in a new range of upholstery materials and the possibility of design support for custom projects. All materials meet the strictest European standards.

EBUSCO | EBUSCO 3.0 DESIGN WINS AUTOMOTIVE BRAND CONTEST 2020

The Ebusco 3.0 electric bus with an exterior and interior design by KesselsGranger DesignWorks, has been named winner of the German Design Council’s Automotive Brand Contest 2020, honoring the best automotive brand and design. The fully electric composite bus took the top prize in the Commercial Vehicles category of the international competition.

The German Design Council awarded the prize for “outstanding product and communication design.”

With the 3.0, Ebusco and KesselsGranger DesignWorks have developed a true innovative game changer in the electric bus industry. The Ebusco 3.0 is a composite bus that has a weight reduction of 33% and the ability to reach a distance up to 500 km with one charge. With this new development, Ebusco peers with diesel-fueled buses, however without the emission, without high fuel costs, but with much higher comfort, better safety and more space for passengers. Immediately after this launch, Ebusco’s branding and reputation exceeded worldwide.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in autumn 2020.

German Design Council – the organizer
The Automotive Brand Contest is the only neutral, international design competition for automobile brands and has emerged as an important international event in the sector. The award is organized by the German Design Council, one of the world’s leading centres of competence in communication and knowledge transfer within design, innovation and branding. More than 320 organizations are currently foundation members. The German Design Council was founded in 1953 as an initiative of Germany’s federal parliament to strengthen the German economy’s competence in design. Its many and varied activities all have one aim: communicating lasting improvements in brand value through the strategic use of design.

Carrosserie Akkermans | iOB for NEP The Netherlands

KesselsGranger DesignWorks is proud to have worked together with Carrosserie Akkermans, the oldest Dutch coachbuilding firm (dating from 1811), for the design of the latest intelligent Open Broadcast (iOB) unit for leading media and broadcasting company NEP The Netherlands.

In assignment to Carrosserie Akkermans, KesselsGranger DesignWorks developed the interior design of the intelligent Open Broadcast (iOB) unit for client NEP The Netherlands. The mobile iOB unit represents one of the most recent innovative expansions within NEP’s Centralized Production Platform, enabling the director to edit recordings at the recording locations (such as sporting and music events).

NEP The Netherlands is the international leading outsourcing partner in television and internet capturing for public and commercial broadcasters.

Linssen Yachts | Linssen Yachts 35 SL AC in production

Following the successful launch of the Linssen Yachts 30 SL Sedan at BOOT Düsseldorf in January, the larger 35 SL AC is currently under production in the Linssen yard in Maasbracht. The yacht is being finalised on the Logicam I production line and is scheduled for a launch this spring.

SL is an acronym for Sport Luxury. The Linssen Yachts prototyping and engineering team has worked in close cooperation with KesselsGranger DesignWorks to create a series of yachts that combine the unmistakably luxurious Linssen identity with enhancements that adhere to the greatest sporting traditions.

The Linssen Yachts SL series is characterised by its rising waterline, contrasting window section, rubber fender, unique interior trim and colour options.

Ebusco | Ebusco 3.0 exhibited in Berlin during ElekBu 2020

The new Ebusco 3.0 electric bus, designed in collaboration with KesselsGranger DesignWorks, was presented in February at the ElekBu 2020 trade fair in Berlin. The new Ebusco 3.0 has a revolutionary composite chassis and body structure, developed by a multifunctional team of key experts, who have earned their spurs in the field of aerospace, automotive and electronics. The use of composites such as carbon fibre has resulted in a weight reduction of 33% over conventional steel and aluminium buses.

As partner of the 3.0 development programme, KesselsGranger is responsible for the exterior body design and interior design of the bus, including concept design and Class A surfacing.

At the ElekBu 2020 trade fair the Ebusco 3.0 was presented in the colours of Münchner Verkehrsgesellscahft (Munich Transport Corporation, MVG). KesselsGranger also penned the special MVG livery that was exhibited in Berlin, with blue and silver lines that are specific to the Ebusco 3.0.

DeWaterbus | Renovation of DeWaterbus ticket kiosk

The new ticket kiosk and office space for DeWaterbus in Antwerp is in the final stages of renovation.

KesselsGranger DesignWorks was asked to redevelop the design of the historical building on the Steenplein in Antwerp, which initially housed the Flandria kiosk since 1948. Respect and attention was paid towards combining the building’s original details and protected view with a clear branding for DeWaterbus.

Ebusco | Ebusco 2.2 Qbuzz Groningen-Drenthe 2020

As of 15 December 2019, 60 electric Ebusco 2.2 regional buses, designed in collaboration with KesselsGranger DesignWorks, will be in operation with Qbuzz for the Groningen-Drenthe concession (GD2020). GD2020 will form the largest operational fleet of electric buses in Europe to date.

All 60 buses arrived in Groningen after a journey of over 250 km from Ebusco in Deurne (North Brabant). These buses realise a tangible reduction of over 5 million kilos of CO2 annually.

Otium Care | Multi & Enzo

The Otium Care Multi, presented with the Enzo reclining armchair designed by KesselsGranger DesignWorks, has won the Innovation Award at the Brussels Furniture Fair 2019.

The annual highlight during the Furniture Fair is the announcement of the Balthazar winners. The jury members were: Marie-Anne Desiere, Siegrid Demyttenaere, Colette Demil, Frances van der Steen, Elien Haentjens and Chris De Roock.

The Otium Care Multi won the Innovation Award. Quoting the jury: “THE innovative answer to a pressing demand from the market, the need for practical, BEAUTIFUL and affordable solutions for people in need of care. Your own, familiar reclining armchair can be transformed into a care armchair: all you have to do is replace the base. This brilliant, modular solution successfully meets emotional, functional, budgetary and ecological needs.”

Mecam Group | Enzo

KesselsGranger DesignWorks has designed a new range of armchairs and recliners, labelled the Enzo series, for Mecam Group, the largest manufacturer of upholstered furniture in the Benelux. The range was launched at the Brussels Furniture Fair (3-6 November 2019).

The furniture pieces have been developed for the domestic furniture line, as well as the Otium Care label.

Ebusco | Ebusco 3.0

The Ebusco 3.0 has won the prestigious and internationally well-known Innovation Award at the Busworld convention in Brussels.

With an exterior body and interior design by KesselsGranger, the Ebusco 3.0 packages aerospace technology (carbon space frame) for a weight reduction of 33% and a range of 500km.

The jury was very impressed with the prototype as it is convinced Ebusco has reached a new milestone in the development of emission-free driving in public transport. This by applying new techniques and materials in the production of its buses.

Ebusco | Ebusco 3.0 Launch Event

The all-new Ebusco 3.0 electric bus has been unveiled at the Ebusco headquarters in Deurne (NL) prior to its international debut at Busworld in Brussels (18-23 October).

Linssen Yachts | Grand Sturdy 35.0

The Linssen Grand Sturdy 35.0 Sedan, designed in collaboration with KesselsGranger DesignWorks, has been nominated for European Powerboat of the Year 2020 in the displacement category.

This award is based on the opinions of leading international boating journalists from Båtliv (Norway), BoatMag (Italy), BOOTE (Germany), Motorboot (Netherlands), MoteurBoat (France), Nautica y Yates (Spain), Neptune (France), Marina CH (Switzerland) and last but not least Yachtrevue (Austria). They nominate products in various categories. They assess on the basis of quality, product innovation, price/quality relationship, sailing characteristics and construction.

The award will be presented during the opening ceremony of Boot Düsseldorf on Saturday 18 January 2020.

Linssen Yachts | 35.0 Grand Sturdy

The next generation Linssen Yachts Grand Sturdy 35.0 (AC and Sedan) are in the starting blocks. The yachts, designed in collaboration with KesselsGranger DesignWorks, will incorporate an innovative, fresh ‘Intero’ style. A style whereby everything revolves around light and space.

The new Grand Sturdy 35.0 AC & Sedan will be presented at the Linssen Yachts Boat Show (16-18 November).

Aqualiner | 35M Fast Ferry Catamaran

KesselsGranger DesignWorks has been entrusted with the styling of two new passenger catamarans for Dutch client Aqualiner, each measuring 35m in length. These catamarans are being built by the experienced Rodman shipyard in Spain.

The styling incorporates elegant lines and a practical design. Features include the curved upper rear deck providing a flybridge appearance, panorama roof and the angled bridge with full-width external viewing platforms for optimal visibility.

The 35m vessels will be the largest passenger catamarans built in GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) in Spain and two of the largest for inland fast ferry passenger transport in Europe.

Since July 2017, Aqualiner has been involved in an important mobility project in Antwerp, known as DeWaterbus. Aqualiner operates several DeWaterbus ferries on the river Schelde and Albert Canal, offering a unique Public Transport service for commuters, students and tourists. Since 1999 Aqualiner has been involved in several similar projects including Waterbus Rotterdam. The services in Antwerp represent their first international expansion. It is their expectation that they will be active in more countries, areas and cities with mobility challenges and congestion issues.

Both vessels, measuring 35m in length, will be built under the European Standard ES (TRIN). Each of them will be capable of transporting 248 passengers and will be equipped with bicycle racks on deck with capacity for 63 bicycles. The open upper sightseeing deck has been developed for the enjoyment of passengers during navigation in the different seasons of the year.

EAACI Congress 2018 | Pollen Indicator Munich

Great moments symbolising commencement of EAACI Congress 2018 in Munich, Germany, the largest allergy and clinical immunology meeting in the world.

This includes the launch of a pioneering pollen indicator for the city of Munich. The indicator was designed by KesselsGranger DesignWorks for ZAUM - Center of Allergy & Environment (Prof. Dr. J. Buters) of the Technical University Munich with kind financial support by Allergopharma GmbH & Co. KG, Reinbek, Germany, and EAACI.

The pollen indicator connects to a newly installed pollen monitoring network ePIN (electronic Pollen Information Network) that is unique to Bavaria, Germany. This network is the first network in the world that monitors the current pollen concentrations online. Both the pollen indicator and the ePIN Network are the first of their kind ever shown worldwide.

Linssen Yachts | Grand Sturdy 30.0

The new Linssen Yachts Grand Sturdy 30.0 AC and Sedan have a completely new styling. Designed by the Linssen Yachts prototyping & engineering team in close co-operation with KesselsGranger DesignWorks. The design incorporates styling features and a distinct new silhouette that brings the Linssen Yachts’ heritage to a new generation.

The yachts are undergoing the final stages of build before their launch during the Linssen Yachts In-Water Boat Show on 4, 5, 6 and 7 May.

Linssen Yachts | Grand Sturdy 30.0

With 2017 drawing to a close, we’re excited to share the news of our collaboration with Linssen Yachts, a leading Dutch manufacturer of steel displacement motoryachts from 9 to 16 metres. Over the past months we have been designing the new 30.0 Grand Sturdy that will be launched in 2018. Currently under construction, the yacht will incorporate styling features that evolve the heritage of Linssen Yachts to a new generation.

DeWaterbus | Livery design

The brand new DeWaterbus Fast Ferry was launched on 1 July in Antwerp. KesselsGranger DesignWorks was responsible for the striking livery design on the new 24,5 meter Damen 2407 Waterbus “Aqua Diamond” that is entering service between Hemiksem, Kruibeke and Steenplein along the historic centre of Antwerp. The design incorporates the new corporate identity of DeWaterbus with clear lines and a diamond pattern on the salon. The introduction of the new Fast Ferry was inaugurated with a weekend of festivities on the Steenplein, including free ferry rides. The new service shall improve the connection to and from the city centre to both sides of the river Scheldt. For more information, visit www.DeWaterbus.be.

Adams Musical Instruments | Alpha Z Frame

Following its US debut during the PASIC, the World’s Premier Drum & Percussion Festival, the new Alpha Z Frame made its European lauch during the Adams International Percussion Festival. Designed by KesselsGranger DesignWorks for Adams signature marimba artist Nancy Zeltsman, the Z Frame integrates the instrument’s support section with the flowing rail and resonator design for a cohesive and complete look. The design also offers great stability. The characteristic Z frame (which coincidentally matches the artist’s surname) is made from a single casting of aluminium, whereas the wing shaped wheel supports are made from solid oak. Nancy Zeltsman, Chair of Percussion / Marimba at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, says “The most important thing to me is creative inspiration, and I’m feeling it with the Adams marimba, and the sleek modern design of the Alpha Z!”

Rondal | Perini Navi superyacht Sybaris on sea trails

Sybaris, the 70 metre Perini Navi sailing superyacht, is currently undergoing the final stage of her sea trials off La Spezia, Italy. Sybaris is fitted with twin carbon fibre Rondal Style to Order furling booms that were styled by KesselsGranger DesignWorks. She is the second largest Perini Navi to date (second only to Maltese Falcon), with a displacement of 927 tonnes and a total internal volume of 870 gross tonnes. Her two masts reach 72 and 62 metres respectively, whilst her sail plan is more than 3,000 sqm. Following the completion of her sea trials, Sybaris will head to Port Hercules where she will be one of the most notable sailing superyachts at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show.

MusikMesse 2015 | Adams Bogdan Bacanu Signature marimba

The past edition of the Frankfurt Musikmesse (15 to 18 April 2015) was the podium for the presentation of the newest signature marimba of Adams Musical Instruments, designed by KesselsGranger DesignWorks for the world famous Romanian marimba artist Bogdan Bacanu.

The marimba was presented in the centre of Adams’ impressive stand and therefore held an absolute top position in the world’s largest international trade fair for musical instruments and the music industry.

The exclusive Bogdan Bacanu Signature-marimba is a textbook example of quality and creativity from the team of Limburg companies that were involved in the design, development and production.

Adams, the leading manufacturer of musical instruments from the Dutch-Limburg Ittervoort yet again signed a successful collaboration with KesselsGranger DesignWorks for the design of the magnificent instrument that Bogdan Bacanu will accompany on the best music podiums in the world. “The Bogdan Bacanu Signature-marimba is powerful, fresh and elegant.”

The flowing lines of the Bogdan Bacanu Signature-marimba were finished with an innovative high gloss paint developed by the firm Sterkendries John Maaseik. The high quality coating is the first in its sort to be applied to a marimba.

The musical debut of the instrument will take place in the weekend of 25 and 26 April in the Romanian Atheneum in Bucharest, in front of a select delegation of VIP invitees.
